First time a driver had to drive through Washington, DC to get me to Dulles International Airport.
First time it took 26 hours to get to Copenhagen
First time I was in France
First time I ate at a Parisian cafe (in the airport)
First time I paid for something in Euros (Denmark and Sweden use Krone)
First time I got to use my 5 semesters of French in a real setting
First time my luggage went to San Paulo, Brazil (with no arrival time in sight)
First time I flew Air France
First time I went to a hotel the second time and got the same exact room (yay, Hotel Du Nord)
First time I slept through Dinner on a plane
First time it took THREE planes before they found one working for us to fly on (United Dulles to Paris)
But I’m here, happy and despite dreams of Lady Gaga killing lots of people at Gibbs High School in Washington DC (including that cute guy from Glee!) had a good sleep. I’m wearing a t-shirt, shorts and sneakers in the cold, rainy weather but as soon as the Fotex opens I’ll have an outfit or two and I can drive to work! Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

This week I:
- Decided to start my own photography business
- Registered www.jeffdaytonphotography.com
- Bought the template and set up the basic site via GoDaddy!
- Worked on my portfolio
- Signed up for some more photography classes
- Joined the Y and did 5 hours of cardio
- Finished and submitted my taxes
- Started using a CPAP machine and am feeling FANTASTIC (the mask pictured is the one I have)
- Started doing Abs again
- Am suddenly tired after realizing all I have done this week
For the rest of the weekend I need to:
- Mow the lawn and clean up the debris despite the dampness so we don’t get charged for not mowing our lawn
- Work on my portfolio
- Work on www.jeffdaytonphotography.com
- Rest my knees from above-mentioned work!
- Write an outline for a class I’m teaching Monday morning
- Enjoy Skip and the dogs tomorrow

My favorite actor from Angel, Andy Hallett, recently died of heart failure at 33 years of age. He played a gay(?) alien that helped out Angel’s team where he could and had a fantastic voice. A win American Idol hands-down kind of voice. I’m sad he’s gone and I’m sad he didn’t get more recognition for the beautiful voice he had.

We were allowed to swim here on a recent cruise that went to Guatamala. It’s a very slippery area and the water was extremely cold!

You might be wondering why there’s a watermark on the picture called “Blossom’s Ear.” I’m working on my photography skills and hope to become a professional photographer/editor at some point so as I’m building up my portfolio I need to protect my work. I have a friend who had a picture taken of her dog (“Can I take a picture of your dog?”) and now that dog is on t-shirts, cups, etc. That simple “Yes” she gave stripped her of all her rights to the image(s) that the photographer took. So I’m just protecting my work. The point of the watermark is to protect my work, not make you stare at it so it’s very light. I might brighten it just the teeniest bit but hopefully it won’t be too intrusive.

You would not believe how many pictures I have of Blossom and Shiloh. Well maybe you would. I’m always looking to see if they do something new or unusual. Some of them I miss because a camera isn’t close enough. This ear off the couch pose was too good to miss and easy to get since you don’t mess with Blossom’s down time.

Here are some trees near our old house in Colorado. As you can tell there was a lot of great snow at the time.

Here is some Ivy behind my house. This picture was taken for a photography class last year.

People have said some really stupid things defending Chris Brown over the alligations he beat up Rhianna, but Terrance Howard takes the cake.
His original comment on the incident was “It’s just life, man. Chris is a great guy. He’ll be all right. And Rihanna knows he loves her. She’ll be all right. Just everybody’s got to get out of their way.”
Well that kind of insensitivity didn’t go over well so his “retraction” consists of him saying that he didn’t actually know about the incident he was commenting about when he commented about it.
“When they asked me about Chris Brown the other day, I was in no way aware of what he had been accused of. Had I known, I would have never had said something so insensitive.”
Unbelievable.
