and I’m extremely offended!
Skip and I are in NYC for the weekend having a wonderful time. Last night we saw A Catered Affair with Faith Prince and Harvey Firestein. Very easy to understand why it won the 2008 Drama Desk Musical of the Year award. I think I was the first one to stand for a standing ovation because Harvey looked right at me as he walked downstage for his curtain call.
Skip wanted to get his autograph so we waited by the stage door. Several people walked in the back door, one being an older actor that we recognized but couldn’t place. Skip drove me and the two ladies next to us nuts with the most vague details about a movie he was in, none of which could help us place him. When Harvey got to the two ladies next to us, they asked him who he was and Harvey said it was Austin Pendleton. He noted that they would know him from some movie but that I (as he looked right at me) would know him from What’s Up, Doc? with Barbara Streisand. “What exactly are you implying?” I asked. “I am highly offended!” He laughed and smiled.
